Deckbuilding restrictions | Players must build a 60 card deck. Pokémon in the deck must be from the Alola Pokédex from Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (https://www.serebii.net/ultrasunultramoon/alolapokedex.shtml); formes of Alolan-dex Pokémon that are not Alolan Forme Pokémon are not allowed (for example, Alolan Ninetales is legal, but Kantonian Ninetales is not.) Other Pokémon formes are legal if the Alolan Forme evolves from them (example: Pikachu is legal, because Alolan Raichu evolves from it, but Kantonian Raichu is not legal. All cards must be legal in the Standard Format (Regulation H mark or later). No Rule Box cards (Pokémon ex, Ace Spec cards) are permitted. While this is not a restriction, consider which island’s Pokédex your Pokémon come from in your deck building; players with a better variety of relevant Pokémon from different islands may get an advantage in different rounds. After the four Swiss rounds, the judge staff will identify the two highest-ranked players with a significant number of Pokémon from each island’s Pokédex and have them face off in the Island Championship. These Island Champions will then face off in a bracket for the title of Alolan Champion. [If we have fewer than 12 trainers, we may skip the Island Champion phase and go directly to the second phase.] |
