Deck Building Restrictions:

Players are required to bring a Standard Format (60-card) constructed deck.

Supporter cards are not permitted in any deck.

Gameplay Rules:

Four Supporter cards are placed face up on the table at the round between the players. On a player’s turn they may use the effect of one of the face-up Supporter cards by choosing one of the cards and flipping it face down. That Supporter can’t be chosen by either player again until the third Supporter card is used, at which point all the Supporters are “reset” and flipped face up. When this happens, the fourth Supporter is given a Friendship counter which applies a Friends Forever bonus when next used—draw 2 cards or place 3 damage counters on one of your opponent’s Pokémon.

The four Supporter cards will be:

  • Boss’s Orders
  • Judge
  • Team Rocket’s Petrel
  • (A card draw supporter—to be revealed on the day of the event)

Legal Regulation: H onwards
Legal Rarities: All rarities allowed
Maximum quantity of cards with same name: Standard deckbuilding rules apply, just no supporters
Banned Cards: All supporters

FAQ

  • When do I get to apply the Friends Forever Supporter bonus?
    • The Friends Forever bonus is applied at the end of the Supporter card’s effect as if it were one effect. For example, Judge will read, “Each player shuffles their hand into their deck and draws 4 cards. Then, draw 2 cards or place 3 damage counters on one of your opponent’s Pokémon.”
  • Can a Supporter card carry more than one Friendship counter?
    • Yes! Append each Friends Forever bonus at the end of each of that Supporter card’s effect.

Team Building:

Players must prepare a Box of 12 unique Pokémon:

  • All Pokémon must not start with a held item. 

Banned Pokemon:

The following Pokémon may not be in a Player’s Box:

  • Any Pokémon in the “Undiscovered Egg Group” (basically no Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast, or Paradox Pokémon, but this provides a handy list)
    • Exceptions:
      • Nidoqueen
      • Unown
      • Type: Null & Silvally
      • Dracozolt, Arctozolt, Dracovish, & Arctovish
  • Phione & Manaphy

The following Items are banned:

  • Floettite

Battle Rules:

Each game, Players will look at their Opponent’s team and choose 6 Pokémon to bring to the battle from their Box. Players will have 3 minutes to add items to their team.

In team-preview each Player will select 4 Pokémon to bring to the battle. The 4 Pokémon on the winning Player’s team may not be used for the rest of the games that round.
