TCG — Oops All Ace Specs

Format Overview

  • Regulation: G–J
  • Match Structure: Best of 3
  • Deck Size: 50 cards
  • Prize Cards: 5
  • Pokémon Restrictions: No Rule Box Pokémon allowed
  • Banned Cards: Genesect SFA 40

Ace Spec Rules

  • You may play as many Ace Spec cards as you like in your deck, but only 1 copy of each.
    • Example: You may play Master Ball, Prime Catcher, and Secret Box in the same deck.
    • You may not include 2 copies of the same Ace Spec (e.g., two Master Ball).
    • If an Ace Spec that is an Energy or a Tool would publicly return to your hand or deck for any reason, instead that card is put in the Lost Zone for the rest of the match.

Special Rule —

Whenever an Ace Spec is placed into the discard pile, put it in the Lost Zone for the rest of the match.

  • Example:
    • In Game 1, you use Master Ball.  When you place it into the discard pile, immediately place it into the Lost Zone instead
    • In Games 2 and 3, you cannot use Master Ball — it remains in the Lost Zone for the entire match.

Note: This means your deck may begin Game 2 or Game 3 with fewer than 50 cards.  Also, if the Ace Spec card never leaves play when the game finishes (like with Hero’s Cape) it remains in the deck for the next game.

Deck Reset

  • Your deck fully resets between rounds (not between games within a round).

  • No other held items are permitted.

Additional Rule

  •       After you win a game in your match, your opponent may ban 1 of your Pokémon for the remainder of the match.
  •       Example: My team consists of Garchomp, Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur, Dragonite, and Steelix.  I win game 1.  My opponent may choose any 1 Pokémon that I cannot select for either game 2 or 3 (if necessary).  If they choose Dragonite, that means I can no longer select that Pokémon this round.  I need to select from Garchomp, Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur, and Steelix,  for the next game.
