Extra Rule
  • At the beginning of the game, instead of the standard setup, you will follow these steps:
  • Draw 13 cards.
  • Set up your Basic Pokémon on the Active Spot face down as usual.
  • Choose 6 cards from your hand and shuffle them into your Prize card area.
  • You must include at least 2 different Mega Evolution Pokémon in your deck.
  • You may only play non-Rule Box Pokémon that share a type with one of your Mega Evolution Pokémon.
  • Your deck can contain a maximum of 2 different types of Pokémon.
  • The standard Mega Evolution rule does not apply. Instead:

When your Mega Evolution Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Bonus: 

Based on the final standings, the top-ranked player for each specific Mega Evolution Pokémon will receive a special prize.

Note: A player can only receive a maximum of one special prize.

  • 3 Teams of 6 Pokémon.
  • Species clause (only 1 of a given Pokémon in total)
  • Player A has a Garchomp on their 1st team. They cannot have it on their 2nd or 3rd team.
  • Item Clause (only 1 of a given Item in total)
  • Player A has Gengar on their 1st team. Gengar has the item Choice Specs. No other Pokémon on Player As 1st, 2nd or 3rd team may have the item Choice Spec 
  • No team can enter more than 1 game per round.
  • No move may appear on the team more than twice
  • Once a team has been used in a match. That team can’t be used again.
  • In case of a voided game, players can select a fully new team from all their available Pokémon.
  • In case of Sudden Death, players can select a team from ALL Pokémon on their team, even if they had already been used prior.

Top players will be selected based on their respective swiss rankings and also the global attendance for each game.

A) Basics

Top Cut professors will fight in a 21 questions multiple answers quiz. The 4 professors obtaining the best results will advance to top 4.

B) Timing

The quiz is not a speed quiz. Each question will have a sufficient amount of time to be answered to facilitate questions understanding for all players.

C) Help 

Professors may choose another team mate in the attendance for the duration of the top 8. 

D) 3 Phases

Blaine’s quiz will be separated into 3 phases of questions. 

 

For this Professors’ Cup, players who do not advance to the finalist stage will still have a chance to participate in the remaining phases of the cup. All other professors who are not qualified for the top 8 can participate in the quiz and also spectate the finals

 

TOP 4
Pokémon Pocket

Pokémon Pocket Booster Sealed

Each player in the Top 4 will receive a basic Pokémon Pocket account. Players will open 50 booster packs from a single series and can build a deck using the cards from the basic account plus the cards drawn from the booster packs.

Each member of the Top 4 may continue the adventure with the person they chose from the Top 8 to assist them during the deck-building and battle phases.

The match is played in Best of Five

The chosen series will be revealed at the last moment.

Deck-building time: 30 minutes.

 

 

 

 

FINALS 


Speed Run on FireRed & LeafGreen

The two remaining players will face off in a fast-paced final!

The finalists will play on  Pokémon FireRed or LeafGreen

The choice of version will be revealed at the last minute.

The match will be a Speed Run!

The first player to win the first two badges will be declared the winner of the professor cup !

Each finalist will be able to continue the adventure with the person they chose from the Top 8 to help them throughout the game!
