TCG — Oops All Ace Specs

Format Overview

  • Regulation: G–J
  • Match Structure: Best of 3
  • Round Time Limit: 45 minutes + 3 turns.
  • Deck Size: 50 cards
  • Prize Cards: 5
  • Pokémon Restrictions: No Rule Box Pokémon allowed
  • Banned Cards: Genesect [SFA 40]

Special Rules —

Oops All Ace Specs Rule

  • You may play as many Ace Spec cards as you like in your deck, but only 1 copy of each.
    • Example:
      • You may play Master Ball [TEF 153], Enriching Energy [SSP 191], and Secret Box [TWM 163] in the same deck.
    • You may not include 2 copies of the same Ace Spec (e.g., two Master Ball).

Ace Spec Lost Zone Rule

  • Whenever an Ace Spec is put into play, after it would leave play, put it in the Lost Zone for the rest of the match.
  • If an Ace Spec is in play at the end of the game, instead of returning the card to the deck to prepare for the next game, put it in the Lost Zone for the rest of the match.
  • Whenever an Ace Spec would be discarded from your hand by the use of a card effect, put it in the Lost Zone for the rest of the match. Ace Spec cards shuffled back into the deck or prize cards will be shuffled into the deck or prize cards as normal.
  • If an Ace Spec is discarded from the deck due to a card effect, that Ace Spec will be discarded to the discard pile like normal.
  • Your deck fully resets between rounds (not between games within a round).

Note: This means your deck may begin Game 2 or Game 3 with fewer than 50 cards.

  • Examples:
    • In Game 1, you use Master Ball. When you place it into the discard pile, immediately place it into the Lost Zone instead for the remainder of the match.
    • In Games 2 and 3, you cannot use Master Ball — it remains in the Lost Zone for the entire match.
    • If you attach Enriching Energy and Hero’s Cape [TEF 152] onto a Dudunsparce [TEF 129] and use its Run Away Draw ability, any Ace Spec cards attached to the Dudunsparce will be placed into the Lost Zone for the remainder of the match.
    • In Game 1 you play Grand Tree [SCR 136] into play, and have an Hero’s Cape attached to your active. The game ends while the Ace Spec cards are still in play.  When picking up your cards to shuffle for the next game, place any Ace Specs in play into the Lost Zone for the remainder of the match.
    • In Game 2 you play Professor’s Research [JTG 155] and discard your hand which includes the Ace Spec card Secret Box. Any Ace Spec cards discarded from the hand by the effect of Professor’s Research are placed into the Lost Zone for the remainder of the match.
    • In Game 1 your opponent plays Eri [TEF 146] and chooses to discard an Ace Spec card from your hand. That card is placed into the Lost Zone for the remainder of the match.
    • In Game 2 your opponent plays Aipom [PFL 78] and uses the attack Astonish. If they select an Ace Spec card, that card is shuffled into your deck.
    • In Game 1 your opponent attacks with Land Collapse from a Great Tusk [TEF 97] and discards an Ace Spec card. That card is placed into the discard pile as normal.
