“Middle-Child Syndrome”

  • Decks may include the Basic or Stage 1 Pokémon of three-stage evolution lines only. This includes the use of “baby” Pokémon. if in the Pokémon world they would form the first stage of a three-stage evolution line.
  • Decks do not have to include both the Basic and Stage 1 Pokémon – just the Basic may be included provided it would be part of that all-important three-stage evolution line

    Example: Decks may include Happiny and/or Chansey, but not Blissey. Decks may include Chimchar and/or Monferno, but not Infernape.

    • Teams must contain 6 Pokémon and each Pokémon must have been discovered in a different region
    • Teams may only include the second stage Pokémon in a three-stage evolution line
    • Teams must include at least one Pokémon that is part of an evolution line containing a “baby” Pokémon (e.g. Pikachu, Clerfairy, Roselia, etc)
    • A Pokémon’s region is determined by the second-stage Pokémon being used, not the final stage Pokémon in the line (e.g. Primeape is Kanto, Porygon2 is Johto, etc)
