Tournament Eligibility

This guide is based on official documentation from TPCi.

Prerelease

Prerequisites:

  • Run a Pokémon League
  • Have consistent and accurate reporting for a minimum of one month for the quarter OR recently signed-up for League Season and it’s your first application to host a Prerelease tournament

Maintaining eligibility:

  • Run a League that is Season Active
  • Have consistent and accurate reporting for a minimum of two months since the most recent Prerelease tournament
  • Reported your most recent Prerelease tournament

Applying for Prereleases:

League Challenge

Prerequisites:

  • You must have hosted Pokémon League at your location for at least 3 months.
  • You must have reported accurately for each of the 3 most recent consecutive League Seasons.
  • You must have ordered League materials for the current Season.

Maintaining eligibility:

  • Your League must have Season Active status.
  • You must have successfully reported the most recent past League Challenge.
  • You must have reported accurately for 2 of the 3 most recent consecutive League Seasons.
  • You must have ordered League materials for the current Season.

Applying for League Challenges: Submit a support ticket with “Enable League Challenge” as the subject, selecting “Championship Series”, “Event”, and “Trading Card Game”.

League Cup

Prerequisites:

  • Run a Store League.
  • You must have hosted Pokémon League at your location for at least 6 months.
  • You must have reported accurately for the 3 most recent consecutive League Seasons.
  • You must have successfully reported your 3 most recent consecutive League Challenges.
  • Europe and South Africa only: You must have ordered League materials for the current Season.

Maintaining eligibility:

  • Your League must have Season Active status.
  • You must have reported accurately for the 3 most recent consecutive League Seasons.
  • You must have successfully reported your 2 most recent consecutive League Challenges.
  • Europe & South Africa only: You must have ordered League materials for the current Season.

Applying for League Cups:

  • Europe & South Africa: Submit a support ticket with “Enable League Cup” as the subject, selecting “Championship Series”, “Event”, and “Trading Card Game”.
  • United States, Canada, & Argentina: There is no open application option for League Cups in these regions. There will be an audit of the above criteria, and those Leagues that meet the requirements will be contacted. No action needs to be taken on your part.

Premier Challenge

Prerequisites:

  • Have successfully organized and uploaded three events of good standard. It does not matter whether these are Video Game or Trading Card Game events – what matters is your ability and experience in planning and reporting events.
  • Be familiar and comfortable with the Tournament Operations Manager (TOM).
  • Uphold the Professor Core Values.

Applying for Premier Challenges: Fill out an application form (available here). In the “Subject” field, write “Premier Challenge Application” followed by your country. If you are from the USA, please also write your State. For example:

  • “PREMIER CHALLENGE APPLICATION ITALY”
  • “PREMIER CHALLENGE APPLICATION USA WASHINGTON”

Midseason Showdown

Prerequisites:

  • Have successfully organized and uploaded three Premier Challenges of good standard since the start of the calendar year.

Applying for Midseason Showdowns: There is no application form for Midseason Showdown permissions. At key points throughout the season – around the time of each International Championships, though this may vary – all TOs who have run at least 3 Premier Challenges will be automatically upgraded to a Midseason Showdown organizer.
