What is the structure?

The Swiss rounds will be played on a best-of-three basis, with a time limit that will be set later + 3 additional innings.

What are the rules for building my Deck?

The decks will use the Standard structure with the following modifications:

Cards from all XY and Generations expansions will be legal;
The deck must contain EXACTLY 40 cards. The game will be played with 4 Prize cards;
Only Pokémon with the COMMON rarity will be accepted;
Only Trainers with the RARE rarity will be accepted;
Special Energies will NOT be accepted;
Promo Cards (Black Star Promos) will NOT be accepted;
Any cards that do NOT have the rarity symbol will not be accepted. Example: Trainer’s Kit;
Pokémon attacks require the same number of energies and the same number of different energy types, but not necessarily the same type of energy listed.
Example: Axew (BREAKthrough – 108/162 – Common) has the attack “Dragon Claw” which requires three energies namely: [Fighting][Metal][Colorless].

In this rule, the player who wants to use this attack can do so by paying the following cost: [Fire][Water][Water] or [Psychic][Grass][Grass] for example;

The following cards will NOT be allowed: Raichu (Generations); Wobbuffet (Generations); Lysandre’s Trump Card (Phantom Forces)
Full art cards or cards that are of a rarity other than specified will not be allowed
Example: The Roaring Skies set has two Wally cards, one with Uncommon rarity (94/108) and one with Ultra Rare rarity (107/108). If the player wants to use this Trainer, they can only use the Uncommon version (94/108)

Other important information about this format:

Each type of Energy will provide an immediate mandatory effect when it is attached from your hand to one of your Pokémon!

So consider what these effects are when deciding what your deck will look like…

Fighting – Put 1 damage counter on a Pokémon in play;
Fire – Discard a card from your hand, then draw a card;
Lightning – Move a damage counter from one Pokémon in play to the other;
Grass – Heal 20 damage from a Pokémon in play;
Water – Return a Pokémon card from its discard pile to its owner’s hand;
Psychic – Move an Energy attached to an in-game Pokémon to another Pokémon belonging to the same player
Darkness – Trade a player’s Active Pokémon for a Pokémon that is in their Bench;
Metal – Prevents the next 20 damage that would be dealt to a Pokémon in play;
Fairy – Flip a coin. If it’s expensive, choose a Special Condition. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now affected by this Condition.

You can discard a card from your hand to cancel the effect of your opponent’s Energy for this turn;
You can discard a card from your hand and a card from the top of your deck to steal your opponent’s Energy effect for yourself.
