The Professor Cup is a non-sanctioned event, free-to-enter tournament. It is going to be open to any Professor who meets at least one of the following requirements:
- Is part of the staff during Latin America IC 2018;
- Was part of the staff during any Regional organized by Copag this season (Belo Horizonte, São Paulo or Salvador);
- Is a Stage 1 or Stage 2 Organizer;
- Is a Stage 1 or Stage 2 TCG Judge; or
- Is a Stage 1 or Stage 2 VG Judge.
*Attendance in the Professor Seminar is mandatory to play the Professor Cup.
The tournament will occur after the closing ceremony of Latin America IC, on the WTC Golden Hall.

Special rule 1 – Prism Star rule
All cards in the deck should follow the “Prism Star Rule”. That means you can only have one copy of each card with the same name. Also, all cards would be placed in the Lost Zone instead of the Discard Pile. The only exception is Basic Energy cards – those can be used as many as you wish, but it will be placed in the Lost Zone instead of the Discard Pile.
Special rule 2 – Mutant evolution
Aside from regular evolution rules, a Stage 1 Pokémon can evolve from any Basic Pokémon from the same type and a Stage 2 Pokémon can evolve from any Stage 1 Pokémon from the same type.

Tournament Structure
- Best of 1 game;
- Time limit – 30minutes + 3 turns;
- Swiss only;
- 4 prize cards game;
Prizes
Unlike European and North American Professor Cup, the winner of Latin American Professor Cup is not guaranteed a staff position at the 2018 World Championship in Nashville.
A special playmat will be given to the first 85 registered participants.
1st to 4th place will receive a commemorative trophy.
