This free-to-enter tournament is exclusively open to Stage 1 & Stage 2 Professors from anywhere in the world. The Professor Cup combines a specially designed format, quirky unpredictable rules, and great prizes to create a memorable experience for all. The tournament comprises separate swiss rounds for TCG and VG players, and a combined top cut featuring the Top 4 players from each. On top of all that, there will be opportunities to win TCG booster packs every single round!
After Swiss rounds have concluded, the Top 4 from each tournament will be thrown together in a combined Top 8!
TCG Format
- 60 cards
- Sun & Moon onwards
- Common and Uncommon rarities only
- Limit 2 cards with the same name (excluding basic Energy)
- Your deck must include at least 2 Pokémon cards of each type!
VG Format
- Double Battle
- Flat rules
- Species & Item clauses in effect
- Best-of-Three, 50 minute rounds
- Pokémon must be Alola-born
- Pokémon may not hold Mega Stones
- Pokémon each must have 2 types and may not share a type with any other Pokémon in your Battle Team!
- Players may include up to 2 Pokémon on the Restricted List in their Battle Team!

Top Cut
- Players don’t need to do anything special in order to prepare for Top Cut as everything will be provided, though those who are familiar with both TCG and VG will have an advantage in these final exciting rounds!
- VG games will be played using a special limited QR team format.
- TCG games will be played using 40-card decks which players will construct with cards they draft from a specially prepared pool. The complete list of cards available in the draft pool is attached!
