Overall Format

Players will be separated into “mainly TCG”-Pods, and “mainly-VG”-Pods. The TCG-Pods will play 4 rounds of the TCG format, and 1 rounds of the VG format. The VG-Pods will play 4 rounds of the VG format, and 1 rounds of the TCG format. Players must bring their own equipment for their primary format (that is, TCG-Pod Players need to provide their own decks, and VG-Pod Players need to supply their own System/Game/Team). Players may choose to bring or rent equipment for the other format (VG-Pod Players can rent decks, and TCG-Pod Players can rent VG systems, games and teams.).

Format: Not Ready for the New Year!

Cards not allowed:
all EX/GX cards; Shiny Vault cards; and reprints issued in theme decks and battle arena decks.
60 card deck; select 10 cards to exclude from your deck during play. You will be given 10 replacement cards to include in your deck. This may change each round.

VG

The VG Portion of the TCG-Pods
Players in the TCG-Pods have the option of either a) bringing their own 3DS, game, and team to the event or b) renting a 3DS, game, and team at the event. Those renting equipment will use the team on the game “as is” without modifi cation. Players will use the same team for the duration of the event regardless if they rent or bring their own.
Tiny Cup – USUM Edition
System: Nintendo 3DS Family of systems
Games: Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon
Format: Doubles – Normal Rules – Bring 6, choose 4
Team-building Restrictions:
(1) All Pokemon must be 2ft (0.6m) or under as listed by their Pokedex entry.
(2) If a Pokemon has a form, the form used must follow (1). Example: Pumpkaboo-Large is legal, but Pumpkaboo-Super is not.
(3) If a Pokemon changes form during battle, BOTH forms must follow (1). Example: Wishiwashi is illegal because Schooling Form is larger than 2ft.
(4) Pokemon must be obtained in Pokemon SM or Pokemon USUM (as denoted by the Generation 7 clover on the Pokemon Summary Screen).
(5) No Pokemon of the Player’s team can hold the same held item.
(6) Pokemon may not hold Z-Crystals or Mega Stones
(7) No Pokemon on the Player’s team can share the same National Dex number.
Banned Pokemon (by height): Cosmog, Shaymin, Kartna, Uxie, Azelf, Mesprit, Jirachi, Manaphy, Phione, Mew, Victini, Hoopa, Poipole, Celebi, Meloetta, Porygon2

Players in the VG-Pods must bring their own Switch, copy of Sword or Shield, and team to the event. They are also encouraged to build their own deck for the TCG portion of the event by following the TCG deck building rules. In the event that they do not have a deck, one will be provided at the event for the TCG portion. Players will use the same deck for the duration of the event regardless if they rent or bring their own.

(4) In the unlikely event that Pokemon Home releases before the event, only Pokemon that appear in the Galar Pokedex may be used. Similarly, only Pokemon obtained in Sword / Shield may be used (as denoted by the whirlpool circle on the Pokemon summary screen).
(5) No Pokemon of the Player’s team can hold the same item.
(6) Pokemon may not Dynamax or Gigantamax during battle because they become WAY taller than 2ft tall!
(7) No Pokemon on the Player’s team can share the same Galar Pokedex number.
