For the 2025-2026 season, some changes have been made with how League activities should be scheduled and reported. This has simplified the process and centralized everything under Play! Tools.
The new scheduling and reporting guidelines are as follows:
Casual play session | Any tournament |
Schedule a Play! Session in Play! Tools | Sanction the tournament in Play! Tools under your store’s Activity Group |
Report players each Session in Play! Tools | Upload the TDF to Play! Tools |
If a tournament takes place alongside a Play! Session, players should only be reported for both if they participate in both – e.g. if a player sticks around after the tournament for some for-fun matches or to trade with others. If someone comes for just the tournament, they should not be reported for the Play! Session. The type of tournament does not matter – casual/Friendly, League Challenge, League Cup, Prerelease, etc.
Additionally, monthly store event attendance reports are now automatically generated based on Play! Session check-ins and tournament players. Be sure to record attendance for each Play! Session and upload tournament TDFs within seven days of each event!
For Play! Sessions, you can now check in players by scanning their Play! Pokémon Access QR code using your phone or computer’s camera:
- Log into Play! Tools
- Ensure the correct store is selected, then select the Play! Sessions tab
- Find the Play! Session you want to check players in for, and press the Report button
- Choose the Scan option (if on mobile, tap the + button at the bottom right first)
How was it before?
Under the old system, understanding how to schedule and report properly could be a bit complicated. Below is the previous system – again, this is not current guidance:
